Upon your arrival at Madurai airport / railway station, you will be driven to Rameswaram by road.
En route visit the famous Teppakulam tank & Mariamman temple. Rameswaram is one of the holiest places considered by Hindus. It is believed that Lord Ram had offered prayer to Lord Shiva to alleviate Him from the sins caused to him due to the killing of demon king, Ravana. Many Hindu devotees believe that their pilgrimage won’t be effectual unless they visit Rameswaram. Hence, Rameswaram is known as “Kasi of the South”. After Check in at the hotel, proceed for the darshan at the Ramanathasamy temple. Later proceed for the sightseeing of Rameswaram.

After Breakfast, proceed for Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari is the southern most point of the Indian mainland. This coastal town is famous for the Swami Vivekananda rock & the 133 feet hight Tiruvalluvar statue. It is said that Swami Vivekananda obtained his wisdom on the rocks standing in the middle of the sea here while doing penance. After Lunch, proceed for the sightseeing of Kanyakumari & witness the feet of the Bhagavathi amman in the Vivekananda rock where she did penance to marry Lord Shiva. Later visit the famous Tiruvalluvar Statue located near the rock. The statue is dedicated to the tamil saint poet Tiruvalluvar for his contribution of “ Thirukkural” to the world.

This morning, check out from the hotel and drive to Madurai. Upon your arrival by Madurai, you will be transferred to the Hotel.
MADURAI – Legend says that once Lord Shiva appeared in the dream of King Kulasekhara Pandya. The King was amazed to see drops of nectar or madhu falling down on the Earth from Lord Shiva's matted hair. The "madhu" was so sweet that the place where it fell came to be known as Madhurapuri, which in course of time became "Madurai." Madurai is also called the Athens of the East. It is a place of great historical and cultural importance. It is the oldest city in Tamil Nadu and lies on the banks of the River Vaigai. Madurai is famous for its temples, monuments and ancient cultural wonders Later proceed for the sightseeing of Madurai. Visit the famous Night Ceremony at the Meenakshi Amman Temple. During this ceremony, Lord Sundareswarar will be taken to the chambers of Goddess Meenakshi to put the divine couples to sleep. The ceremony takes place only in Madurai.

Today, check out from the hotel and bid farewell to the trip. You are free to do last minute shopping at Madurai or visit some places. Later, you will be dropped at Madurai airport with sweet memories of your trip. (B)
